Wheelhouse Renovation

At the beginning of 2022 we were allowed to start a complete renovation of the wheelhouse of the Bertus. The special thing about this job was that part of the work took place in Urk, and another part on location in Germany.
After the aluminum wheelhouse was welded by Hoekman, we were able to start laying cables and installing new cabinets in the platforms in collaboration with L Post and Zn. After a few weeks, the old up and down wheelhouse was disconnected in Brunsbüttel in 3 weeks and the new wheelhouse was installed. The installation has also been simplified and the up and down mast has been completely renewed with new LED lighting. All lighting has also been transferred from push buttons to a hypermodern touchscreen.
The Bertus is a plow boat that is part of Dutch Dredging, which together with the dredgers ensures that the North-East Sea Canal remains at sufficient depth for the large ships.
